The pictures seem a good match for the words (quoting you above). In my view this is because the teenage Lesley Gore, who wrote the words, isn’t actually asserting “interpersonal non-ownership” but instead fiercely defending her independence and her life.

Because if you *do* own her, that leaves her with only one sensible alternative.

She can’t be “happy.” And Craiyon, somehow brilliantly reading the subtext, isn’t about to spit out nine cheery pictures to accompany her words.
